AS-Schneider at Adipec

AS-Schneider plans more investments

The industrial valves specialist AS-Schneider will be represented at several trade fairs including the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition & Conference (Adipec) in the coming months.

'Adipec is for AS-Schneider the most important meeting point for oil and gas professionals and industrial valve specialists in the Middle East. We use the show to show a selection of standard and customised products,' says Umar Mukthar, sales director Middle East & Africa.

Valves, manifolds and accessories suitable for the regional market will be shown to the relevant target groups. Besides, the company will meet new and existing customers and build new relationships as well as showcase itself as a reputed German company in the Gulf, he says.

Among the products exhibited will be the proven VariAS-Blocks (DBB valve) for providing reliable primary shut-off in the chemical, oil and gas industry. They are designed to replace conventional, multiple-valve installations and are close coupled to the process piping flange, for connecting process to instruments. The VariAS-Blocks are now available with a metal seated ball valve design. This not only allows reliable pressure measurements, but also protects people and the environment from dangerous and harmful process media, he explains.

AS-Schneider also has a number of different valves and manifolds with fire safe approval in its portfolio. These valves offer a safe and reliable shut-off in case of fire. The valves have been tested work safe and found reliable under extreme test conditions. Reliable fire protection is often indispensable for industrial valves. After all they contribute to the safety in such sensitive applications as oil and gas installations or in the chemical and petrochemical industry, he says.

The Taurus Series will also be on display at the trade fairs. These Double Block & Bleed Pipeline Ball Valves are developed specifically for the oil and gas industry and are particularly well suited as a primary shut-off for oil and gas pipelines. The Taurus Series Ball Valves are State-of-the-Art Valves. Developed and reengineered using the latest design and simulating methods paired with decades of experience! AS-Schneider is supplying the Double Block & Bleed Pipeline Ball Valves, starting with DN 25 (1') and presenting now the DN 150 (6') type in Abu Dhabi on the occasion of Adipec 2016 (Booth 8852) in an eye-catchingly luminous green.

In addition, AS-Schneider will display an efficient solution for pressure, flow and level measurements with the Close-coupled Installations (D Series Hook-ups). The D Series consists of a combination of valves, manifolds, piping components, gaskets, bolts, special products and flush rings. The Close-coupled Installations has many advantages: Short assembly and test times, reduction of maintenance costs and the reduction of measurement errors to a minimum. Gauges are installed as closely as possible to the process line to essentially prevent interference such as vibrations, the clogging of long impulse lines, says Mukthar.

For especially high pressures, AS-Schneider supplies High Pressure Needle Valves which are certified up to 15,000 psi. These are available in both Block, Block & Bleed as well as Double Block & Bleed Design and offer a reliable shut-off even at high pressures. The metal to metal secondary back seat provides an additional sealing to atmosphere and releases if used with the packing, which means, less wear on packing and more safety for the user. The special thrust bearing of the stem/valve tip connection ensures the highest absorption of stem forces.

AS-Schneider’s Taurus

AS-Schneider with its headquarters in Germany is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of Instrumentation and Pipeline Valves. Based on 140 years of experience, AS-Schneider has maintained a culture of innovation by continuously expanding its design, production and technology capabilities. AS-Schneider provides an unsurpassed level of reliability to customers in the oil and gas, refining and petrochemical, chemical, power, pulp and paper, marine and various other industries.

'With an international network made up of our subsidiaries and partners in more than 20 countries, we ensure that our customers receive the engineering know-how from AS-Schneider worldwide,' he says.

Since 2011, the company has been focusing on expanding internationally. The company has set up subsidiaries in Singapore, Dubai (UAE) and Houston (US), besides a sales office in Romania.

'Our customers benefit from suitable solutions which are distinguished by efficiency, longevity and technological progress,' he asserts.

The continued success of AS-Schneider shows that progress can only come from tradition. Thanks to a strong culture of innovation, the company is a pioneer in the industry even after 140 years. The continuous new and further product development is a central part of the AS-Schneider philosophy.

AS-Schneider is a reliable partner for small plants as well as for major international projects. Just recently, it transacted two orders from the chemical industry worth several million US dollars: the Texas ethylene plant Gulfstream and the Saudi Arabian chemical plant Sadara.

The company supplied installation hardware (Hook-ups) for both plants. This consisted of valves, manifolds, piping components, gaskets, bolts, special products and flush rings. Both orders are excellent opportunities for AS-Schneider to make a name as a manufacturer and supplier both in the US and in the Arab world, he says.

SADARA PROJECT

More than 15,000 Hook-ups (Close-coupled Installations) has been delivered by AS-Schneider. The Installation hardware of AS-Schneider is a combination of valves, manifolds, piping components, gaskets, bolts, special products and flush rings in every imaginable material.

The Hook-ups were delivered pre-assembled, so that it is only necessary to attach the hardware to the process pipe, on-site.

The benefits of Closed-coupled Installations D Series Hook-ups are many.

On the company’s plans for the future, he says AS-Schneider aims to 'further invest in our modern and highly automated production to increase our competitiveness and to be more able to process all requirements of our clients'; increase and strengthen its global presence; and explore new markets as well as to invest in the development of new (customised) products and application solutions.A regular exhibitor at Adipec since 2010, AS-Schneider will be in Hall 8, Booth 8852.
