Tamimi Group showcases its manufacturing capabilities

One of the pioneers in transferring knowledge to the Gulf region and adding local content, Tamimi has done a great job in the past 60 years and hopes to do so with its future partners in order to promote manufacturing in Saudi Arabia

Low oil prices have failed to dent the confidence of Saudi Arabia’s business house Tamimi Group of Companies, Power and Industrial division.

'The drop in prices and slowdown is a cycle and we have been in such situations many times in the past, says Sulaiman A Al Rumaih, vice president of Power and Industrial Sector, Tamimi Group of Companies.

'It is a normal trend in the business nothing to worry about. We are committed to serve the needs of the industry and are focusing on quality rather than quantity. Our focus is to serve our customers in a better way,' he adds.

Al Rumaih was in Dubai this month to participate at the Manufacturing Conferences and Exhibition for Oil and Gas (MAF 2016).

'We have been one of the pioneers in the area transferring knowledge to the Gulf region and adding local content. Tamimi has done a great job in the past 60 years and will continue to do so with our future partners in order to promote manufacturing in Saudi Arabia and create jobs,' Al Rumaih says.

Tamimi Group was one of the sponsors of the event. The aim of the show was to highlight the manufacturing capabilities in the Gulf region and to create a forum for facilitating the exchange of practical experiences in all aspects of machine fabrication and manufacturing.

Targeting high-end customers looking for quality products, Tamimi was at the show to exhibit its product range as well as to showcase its manufacturing capabilities in the kingdom and the GCC.

'At Tamimi, we have several products. However, we have tried to highlight our products and supporting services to serve businesses in this industry within and outside the kingdom,' he adds.

The Power and Industrial Group is part of the Tamimi Group which in total consists of over 40 well-known and established Saudi companies. The division provides high quality products, equipment and services to various major companies in Saudi Arabia, including Saudi Aramco, Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), Saudi Arabia Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic) and many more. It is also the official representative for some fo the highly respected names in the oil and gas business such as GE, Halliburton and Clairant.

'We are proud to have these companies as our customers, and more so to having served them for the past 60 years and counting,' he said.

Currently its business is concentrated in Saudi Arabia. 'In terms of manufacturing most of our facilities are in the kingdom. We do have a small manufacturing facility in Sharjah for pipe coating, which only caters to the local UAE markets,' Al Rumaih says.

'From Saudi, we undertake exports to other countries. At the moment, we are covering most of the GCC markets, and given the increased focus on this region, we have no plans to expand our customer base beyond the GCC for the time being,' he adds.
