Linde-Sigas ... a complete solution provider

Linde-Sigas uses the power of gases to boost efficiency

The firm’s know-how ranges from conventional gas generation for the improved production of transport fuels to futuristic technologies

LINDE-SIGAS, a subsidiary of the Linde Group, is a leading manufacturer of all bulk, industrial, medical and specialty gases for the growing needs of Saudi Arabia with operational and sales outlets spread throughout the major cities of the kingdom.

Linde-Sigas know-how ranges from conventional gas generation for the improved production of transport fuels to futuristic technologies. It provides gases, processes and detailed know-how on current technologies to oil companies, refineries, utility suppliers and other related industries dealing with the generation and supply of energy.

“The world needs to improve the generation and utilisation of energy even further. At Linde Sigas, we strive to use the power of gases to boost efficiency in energy generation and utilisation,” says Linde-Sigas managing director George P Beretsos.

“We have the knowledge, service capabilities, equipment and technologies, and the innovative spirit for the future. That makes us the right partner for the energy industry,” he says and adds: “we continuously optimise our portfolio by research and by implementing new technologies to ensure that current and future energy supplies will remain steady, safe and environmentally friendly.”

“Our oil and gas services is a complete solution provider for Nitrogen service from Liquid Nitrogen to high pressure test, purging of system, commissioning or de commissioning of petrochemical plant,” Beretsos says.

Established in 1955, Saudi Industrial Gas Co Ltd (Sigas) is the first industrial gases company to be set-up in Saudi Arabia. In 2008, the Linde Group acquired majority share in Sigas and became Linde-Sigas. Today, Linde-Sigas, which employs about 400 people, is the second biggest industrial gases company in Saudi Arabia. The company has established plants in Dammam, Jeddah, and filling station in Dammam, Riyadh, and Jeddah.

The Specialty Gases Division (SGD) of Linde-Sigas manufactures ultra high purity and carrier grade pure gases, medical gas mixture, environmental gas mixture and welding gas mixture using highly reliable and gravimetric technology. SGD products are of international standards and traceable to NIST – USA (National Institute of Standards & Technology) standard.

Linde-Sigas’ projects division has developed in-house expertise in building and setting-up of piped medical and industrial gases supply systems. Linde-Sigas supplies refrigeration gases of various grades and internationally reputed brands. “We supply in various packaging in ISO tanks, 1-tonne tanks, refillable and disposable cylinders,” Beretsos says.

The company provides added value to its customers through a wide product range of hard-goods which include welding consumables, oxy-fuel equipments and welding accessories and also safety products from leading manufacturers around the world.

Linde-Sigas has been growing simultaneously over the years to fulfil the market demand, as Saudi Arabia is getting bigger and became a major fuel consumer for all refineries and petrochemical plants, Beretsos says.

The company is working in line with the Saudi strategic endeavour towards increasing their utilised share of the oil in house in order to become more self-sufficient in petrochemical products and attracting foreign capitals to invest locally, he adds.

The Linde Group is a world-leading gases and engineering company with around 62,000 employees in more than 100 countries worldwide. In the 2012 financial year, Linde generated revenue of €15.280 billion ($19.61 billion). The strategy of the group is geared towards long-term profitable growth and focuses on the expansion of its international business with forward-looking products and services.
