Leading fibre optic cables manufacturer MEFC is now eyeing newer markets like Eurasia for growth

HAVING captured more than 60 per cent market share in the Middle East, Saudi Arabia based Middle East Fibre Cable Manufacturing (MEFC) is now eyeing newer markets like the Eurasia and the rest of the Gulf.

“MEFC has served in many parts of Mena (Middle East and North Africa) and we are now looking forward to cover all the Gulf and Eurasia,” says Dr Suleiman Hedaithy, president, MEFC.

One of the leading manufacturer and supplier of fibre optic cables in Saudi Arabia, MEFC has over the past few years gained many projects in the Mena region and are approved vendors for all the major companies locally and internationally.

The company has successfully completed major projects like Princess Nora bint Abdulrahman University, Khursaniyah Gas Plant package (KGP), Khurais gas plant, Shaybah NGL and is currently working on projects like the King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Centre (Kapsarc) and the Manifa Arabian heavy crude project (Manifa), says Dr Hedaithy.

“We can manufacture all types of outdoor, indoor cables according to the customer’s requirement and also we can make all types of patch cords and pig tails,” says Dr Hedaithy.

Going forward, the company is aiming for an ambitious growth. “MEFC is achieving its goals since last decade, and growing gradually.

In the coming year we have new targets and we are expecting more business this year as this year we can have more new projects, says Dr Hedaithy.

“Since the last few decades there has been a radical change in the field of oil and gas industry. The sector has seen fast expansion which has yielded high revenue not only to the oil and gas sector but also to all the associated industries,” adds Dr Hedaithy.

Saudi Aramco, Satorp, Kapsarc, Kuwait Oil are some of its satisfied customers in the oil and gas sector.

MEFC was established in the year 1995 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Since then MEFC has manufactured and supplied thousands of optical fibres and cables of best quality to its customers worldwide.
